Choosing a class
The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to best group children in an age and developmentally appropriate way. Therefore, it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the semester for the class in which you are enrolling. If you have concerns about your childs success in a particular age range, I am happy to discuss your childs needs and to work with you to place him in the class best suited for him.
Free Visits
At certain times throughout each session, I am happy to schedule a free visit for your friends in one of our classes.
Register Early
Although you may join our classes at any time, please register early since class sizes are limited and many fill quickly. Registering at least three weeks before the semester begins also ensures that I will have your childs materials for you at your first class. If you enroll after the semester begins, tuition can be pro-rated accordingly.
Enrollment Confirmation
A registration form and payment must be received before enrollment can be confirmed. You will receive a phone call, E-mail or mailed notice within two weeks to confirm your registration.
Refunds
Tuition refunds or credit vouchers may be given if there are extenuating circumstances requiring withdrawal from class. All refund requests will be considered on an individual basis. The cost of materials and a $10 processing fee are non-refundable.
Make-up Classes
Classes will be made up in the event of teacher illness. I will notify you of the cancellation and the scheduled make-up days.
Non-enrolled siblings
Due to limited class sizes and the delicacy of the younger class settings, Village and Our Time classes can only accommodate non-enrolled siblings when the sibling is young enough to stay contented in a car carrier or stroller. Emergency exceptions are considered.
Making the Most of Kindermusik Classes
Plan to arrive about 5-10 minutes early for class. Arriving a
little before class provides time for your child to settle in to the musical
environments as they prepare to enjoy exploring instruments, reading books, or
listening to music. We do request that toys, juice cups, and pacifiers be kept
out of sight, and that snacks be finished prior to class. Be sure to dress
comfortably.
During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an
active and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend several
classes before feeling comfortable in class. Dont be discouraged what a child
is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the comfort of the home environment
rather than in a certain level of participation in class. The understanding and
consistency of the parent or caregiver in class and at home are key to
facilitating musical learning and growth.
By the way, I love for parents to visit before or after class, but not during
class time, please! When you are an active, focused, enthusiastic participant in
the class activities, your child will model your actions and focus more fully
too.
You and your child will enormously benefit from the Kindermusik experience,
especially if you make active use of your At Home Materials. Frequent
reinforcement at home throughout the week makes all the difference in a childs
comfort and participation in the classroom.
Please do not hesitate to contact me by e-mail or telephone
if I can be of further help.
I look forward to having you and your child join us for a great semester of
Kindermusik classes!
